About Inga Pelosi Leighton

Inga Pelosi Leighton is a British Italian scriptwriting coach, scriptwriter, author and educator with a deep, lived knowledge of visual storytelling, independent filmmaking, theatre, literature, and the arts across Europe.

She began writing, producing and performing theatre in Italy and later in the UK, taking her one-woman show to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and to London's West End. She then went on to develop and produce scripts for short and feature-length films through her independent production company.

Following her Script Editing Course at the Skriva Writing School in Edinburgh, she joined the Open College of the Arts and the Open University as a Scriptwriting Tutor, designing and delivering curriculum materials across all three undergraduate levels. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and is committed to inclusive, student-centred mentoring — running workshops, focus groups, and one-to-one sessions tailored to each writer's background and goals.

As a script consultant, she has had the privilege of working with BAFTA winner and Academy Award nominee Michael Radford, director of 1984, Il Postino, and The Merchant of Venice. She also coaches scriptwriters through Script Angel Ltd, helping projects reach industry standards from first draft to final pitch.

Bilingual in English and Italian, Inga brings an exceptional cross-cultural perspective to every creative and learning environment.
