BLANKA DOUGLAS is a Polish-British playwright, screenwriter, actor, and director whose work explores themes of identity, belonging, and the quiet resilience of women. A graduate of the Female Screenwriters on the Horizon program by Netflix and the New Horizons Association, she is currently developing her debut feature, OTHER PEOPLE. Blanka has directed theatre and short films, including DOORBELL and ODE TO THE ORDER OF THINGS. She is the founder of Apolonia Films, an independent production company dedicated to telling female-driven, socially conscious stories with bold visual language and emotional depth. Apart from her filmmaking career, Blanka is also the founder of the Women Without Borders Film Festival, spotlighting bold female filmmakers and stories about women who are not afraid to cross mental and physical borders.

OTHER PEOPLE (feature film)
Feature drama about Anna, a Polish woman living in Liverpool, whose quiet life unravels when she befriends a man also displaced from his home. As their connection deepens, both must confront the loneliness and prejudice that shape their daily lives and learn what it truly means to belong.
