Sofia Spotti
SOFIA SPOTTI is an Italian/Mexican writer-director based in the UK, and a recent graduate of the National Film and Television School, where she was one of the youngest directors ever accepted. Her films explore human psychology through a surreal, experimental lens, blending live action, animation, and intricate sound design to create immersive, emotionally layered worlds. Influenced by magical realist cinema, her work often blurs the line between dreams and reality. Initially self-taught, Sofia developed a distinctive voice early on and has since directed several short-form projects. Her films have screened internationally at prestigious festivals, earning awards and recognition for their bold vision. Sofia is now developing her debut feature CHASING SHADOWS with Rockwood Pictures.
CHASING SHADOWS (feature film)
After his father mysteriously disappears, a 14-year-old British boy is uprooted to his family’s remote Italian village, where strange beings from local folklore lead him toward a buried truth and a path to healing no one else has dared to face.
