About Teresa Cavina

Teresa Cavina is a festival programmer, curator, script and project analyst. She started her activity at the Venice film festival (1989-1997) in different capacities and as coordinator of the advisory board under Gillo Pontecorvo tenure. In 1998 she moved to the Locarno Film Festival, which she co-directed from 2001 to 2005. In 2006 she launched the Rome Film Festival, working as a Co-Artistic Director until 2008. In Rome, she founded the New Cinema Network, an international co-production platform with the aim of training and supporting filmmakers with their 2nd feature film projects.

She has been Artistic Director of FIPA Biarritz (2009-2012) and Programming Director of Abu Dhabi FF (2009-2014), where she co-created SANAD, a Development and Post- Production Fund supporting Arab Cinema.

Currently, she collaborates in programming the Giornate Degli Autori (Venice Days) and El Gouna FF, and she works closely with filmmakers, producers, script labs and international funds including Talents Sarajevo, Locarno Open Doors, Doha Film Institute, Solinas Award.
