AMANDA DE SOUZA

Amanda De Souza is a Canadian writer, director and designer. Her directorial debut, "Call Me Daddy" won Best Comedy at The Official Latino Film Festival, Best Narrative short at the Women's Film Festival and it will have its Canadian premiere at the Canadian Film Festival in 2023. Amanda has worked as an Associate Producer and Assistant on productions for Netflix, Disney, Lionsgate and Universal Content Productions. After wrapping 2 seasons on the UCP series "Chucky," including a season in the writers' room, Amanda is currently the Digital Marketing Manager at Apartment 3C Productions and Assistant to Director Jennifer Morrison. She continues to develop her creative projects with Toronto-based production company femmedaddy Productions.

 

"Rossa" (TV series)

Following the sudden death of her abusive husband, a poverty-stricken botanist in 1950s Southern Italy must move her family to Northern Canada in order to survive. She becomes infamous in her new community for her natural remedies, but soon discovers that defying the cultural norms may put her in danger.
