ANNIE BRIGGS

Annie Briggs is an award-winning Toronto-based actor and writer. Focused on character-driven, female-centric storytelling she has written a number of short films and digital series. Annie is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (NYC) and the CFC 2018 Actor's Conservatory. She’s most commonly recognized for her role as Lola Perry/The Dean on the hit vampire franchise, “Carmilla” which has garnered her a substantial international LGBTQ fan-base. Currently, Annie is developing work through her Toronto-based production company femmedaddy Productions with her creative partner Amanda de Souza. They are in development on their 1950’s Italian-Canadian drama “Rossa.”

Following the sudden death of her abusive husband, a poverty-stricken botanist in 1950s Southern Italy must move her family to Northern Canada in order to survive. She becomes infamous in her new community for her natural remedies, but soon discovers that defying the cultural norms may put her in danger.
